New dates announced
BOP will take time out from work on the new studio album to play a couple of shows, the first at the Elements of Rock festival which takes place in Stadthofsaal Uster in Switzerland, a two-day
event running from 20th-22nd April with BoP playing on the 21st. Tickets and details of the line-up is available at the festival web site at http://www.elementsofrock.com.
The second show takes place at the Bay Area Rock Fest in San Francisco, California. The two-day event runs on 4th-5th May with BoP performing on the 4th. Tickets and line-up details are available at the BARfest website at http://www.bayarearockfest.com/, with tickets available from 18th February. Noteable bands featuring include the Brazilian act Angra, Spocks Beard and former Savatage frontmans outfit Jon Oliva's Pain.

BoP's Pete at Harrods Rocks
Also BOP guitarist Pete Southern will be performing at the “Harrods Rocks” exhibition on behalf of Gibson Guitars at Harrods store in London on the following dates;
Saturday February 17th, 11:30am - 1:00pm,
Saturday February 24th, 11:30am - 1:00pm,
Tuesday February 27th, 3:00pm - 5:00pm.

Whispers of the new album
At this time the latest offering from the band has a working title of 'Whispers in the Hurricane'. As the entire album is not yet complete, it`s
hard to say which of the many new creations will make it through to a final release. That said, the songs 'Beware the Children', 'The Last Riots' and 'Chaotica'
look likely to appear on the new album.
We will soon be tempting you with some free downloads of the new material just to whet your appetite. The band said, “As Corey has a lot of soul in his voice, this album is turning out very singey. Lots of melodies and addictive choruses”.

BoP provides soundtrack to new movie.
Balance of Power are to have several tracks of theirs featured in a new movie entitled “Frank” (www.frankthemovie.com).
The sound production role is being handled by Balance of Power's very own Lionel Hicks. The film is directed by Stephen James Bland, who worked on the production of the 'Heathenology' DVD release and the promo video of Chemical Imbalance from the Heathen Machine album. The film is set for a release later this year.

A Big Firefest Thanks
BOP would like to say a big “thank you to everyone who made the trip to Nottingham and to the organisers Kieran and Bruce and everyone who helped make the event a success.
We will post pics of the show as soon as we can. Balance of Power played a pre-Firefest warm-up on Thursday 24th November at The Green Man In Barnet, North London. The entire night proved a fiasco, thanks to some horrendous lapses in organisational discipline at the venue. However this only seemed to fire the BOP's up further and by all accounts, the performance of BOP wasn't adversely affected in the least.
These shows were the first to feature new vocalist Corey Brown, who performed excellently. When you live thousands of feet above sea level, you need good pipes! Check out the review here.

Balance of Power rocks Istanbul
Balance of Power have just returned from Istanbul/Turkey where they played to thousands of rock fans at the open air Rock the Nations festival on Saturday August the 6th. The band were
overwhelmed with the response from the Turkish fans especially given the fact that it was the first time that BOP had played in Turkey. Rogue M who was a last minute stand in vocalist for the band on
this one show did a great job and was warmly received by the Turkish fans. BOP has made many more fans now in Turkey and for sure will be playing there in the future. Thank you Istanbul; you ROCK!

Balance of Power at Firefest II
Balance of Power will be playing for the first time with their new voice, Corey Brown at FirefestII at Nottingham Rock City on the 26th of November 2005. The rest of the festival line-up includes:

- Saracen
As a one off occasion at this festival BOP will be playing some material from their first album When The World Falls Down and some material from the USM project album Silver Step Child and possibly some new material from their as yet unreleased 6th album. Also of course, they will be performing some classic BOP tracks from their more recent albums. So don't miss the show. After FIREFEST, the band will be continuing to work on their new album which is as yet untitled.
